This Saturday marks the 20-year anniversary of harrowing loss. The attacks on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 unhinged the lives of the families, friends, and colleagues of the nearly 3,000 lives lost. This week we honor the dignity, courage, and strength of all those directly affected by this tragedy. The devastation and loss have fueled resilience, rebuilding, determination, courage, and endurance and have inspired the work in fields as diverse as medicine, engineering, psychology, politics, and public health.
