Lack of affordable housing exacerbates vulnerability to risky substance use, increases mental health stress, and hinders recovery for people living with substance use disorder (SUD). Commentary in Public Health Reports discusses opportunities for health care providers and public housing authorities to collaboratively remove barriers to long-term housing and create pathways to treatment for residents with SUD.
